Join us throughout the day on the Global Stage in the Exhibit Hall for dance and music performances from around the world. You’ll hear a Oaxacan flute, a Brazilian berimbau, a Japanese shakuhachi, and a Peruvian cajon. You may also learn a West African drumbeat, how to beatbox, dance Bollywood style, or the Persian beshkan. You might even pick up a few hula moves like a Hoʻoholo, an ‘o and kao. Also, hear student poets from ForWords, attend a HipHopforChange workshop, learn about and listen to Iranian diaspora poets, and participate in a community poem activity, as well as open mike readings.
