The 63rd edition of the Marin County Fair will celebrate The Greenest County Fair on Earth with attractions, interactive exhibits, and contests. Along with traditional fair favorites, exciting new features will be the highlight of the 2008 Fair. Enjoy finding out more about the latest earth-friendly discoveries each day of the Fair!
Dr. Solar: World’s First Solar-Powered Theatre
In his award-winning Sunshine Traveling Medicine Show, Dr. Solar blends vaudevillian showmanship, comedy, magic, and the slapstick frolics of his colorful cast of puppet and animated objects into an unforgettable experience for both young and old. Performances start daily at 1 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm and 7 pm at Dr. Solar’s solar-powered wagon on the circular lawn. Read More.
EarthCapades - Environmental Vaudeville
The EarthCapades team visits the Marin County Fair with new adventures in environmental education and entertainment. Learn simple things everyone can do to reduce waste at school and at home; conserve natural resources, enjoy nature, and explore ways we all can live in balance with Planet Earth. Read More.
Marin Alt-Fuel Road Show
The 2008 Marin County Fair will host the most comprehensive, technologically advanced exposition of alternative fuel and high MPG vehicles ever held in Marin County. Read More.
The Walking Tree Man
A 12-foot-tall, stilt-walking, three-dimensional sculpture of a living, mobile and animated Tree Man will appear at the Fair daily throughout the afternoon. Read More.
Mascot Ambassadors of Health
Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre “Mascot Ambassadors of Health” will bring hip healthy messages of safety, nutrition and exercise to life using music, dance and physical comedy on July 2 and July 3 at 12 Noon on the Ben & Jerry’s Stage. Read More.
The Green Life
Covering 6,000 square feet in the Exhibit Hall, this one-of-a-kind exhibit tells the remarkable story of what we can do right here in Marin County. The Green Life will take fair guests on an amazing journey through earth-friendly lifestyle choices. Read More.
Betty Biodiesel
Betty Biodiesel, “the EcoMC,” will activate, inform and entertain audiences before performances at the Play Fair Pavilion and Ben & Jerry’s Stage. Read More.

Youth in Arts Day: July 2
Weave your way through a maze of student artwork that will include abstract, portraiture, photography and community murals created under the tutelage of Mentor Artists from Youth in Arts. Mentor Artists will lead hands-on workshops in recycled art projects. A variety of professional artists and students from Youth in Arts will perform on the Ben & Jerry’s Stage. Read More.
Super Shot Drop Tower
The world-class Super Shot ride is a spectacular addition to the midway at the fair. Passengers lifted up the 90-foot tower will experience a thrilling accelerated free fall cushioned by a magnetic braking system at the base. There will be a $3 fee for this ride only.
Bigger Fireworks Show!
Watch in awe as the sky above the Fair illuminates with a watershed of exciting new effects presented by Pyro-Spectaculars. The fireworks take place every night of the fair at 9:30 pm. Read More.
Authors, Models and Movies:
Jonathan Rinzler and Lorne Petersen

On Saturday, July 5, at 4 pm, Jonathan Rinzler and Lorne Petersen will discuss their books and their work on the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films and present a special video screening. Admisson is first-come, first served in the 330-seat Showcase Theatre. Admission for this special presentation is free with fair gate admission.
