Electric Wheels Car Show
The Fair will host the most comprehensive, technologically advanced expo of electric cars ever held in Marin County. The new Electric Wheels Car Show will give guests an exciting "all electric" collection of clean-air, energy-efficient vehicles available in the marketplace today or concept cars for the future.
Photovoltaic solar panels will be used at the Fair to create the electricity to recharge the cars' batteries. By using the sun's power we are ensuring that the entire cycle is truly zero emissions.
Meet the car owners and electric car enthusiasts from the San Francisco Electric Vehicle Association and learn more about our electric future. Read more.
ELECTRIC MARIN WHEELS
Raul M. Atkinson, founder, partner and designer, and his wife, founding partner Pamela R. Atkinson of San Anselmo, are the creators of The Raptor, built by their company Electric Marin Wheels, EMW. The Raptor's top speed can reach 100 mph and it goes from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 8 seconds. See this one-of-a-kind prototype development vehicle at the Fair. Read more.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE WHEELS
Commuter Cars' Tango will be on display at the Fair. The Tango is an electric car no wider than a motorcycle, with a passenger or luggage space located tandem-style behind the driver. It is so narrow that four Tangos can fit in a normal-sized parking space. With extreme acceleration capability, it can outmaneuver any other car through traffic. Read more.
TESLA ROADSTER
The all-electric Tesla Roadster will be at the Electric Wheels Car Show. The Roadster conforms to all U.S. safety, environmental and durability standards and has a 0-to-60 mph acceleration of 3.9 seconds. With a range of 244 miles per charge, it costs roughly $4 to refuel and can be completely recharged in as little as 3.5 hours. Read more.
